Breast Reconstruction Surgery in Wenatchee

Breast reconstruction often has a positive impact on the quality of life of breast cancer patients by helping them regain their sense of femininity, self-confidence, and body image. This process aims to restore the natural shape and appearance of the breast by using implants or tissue from another area of the body.

Dr. Park is passionate about providing breast reconstruction, especially to those living in underserved areas. She completed a fellowship at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore, where she trained under Bernard Chang, MD, a renowned plastic surgeon specializing in microsurgical breast reconstruction. On top of a strong foundation of tried-and-true breast reconstruction techniques, she stays up to date on the latest advancements. She works with her patients to create a personalized plan for reconstruction.

Who is a Candidate for Breast Reconstruction?

Dr. Park offers breast reconstruction consultations for women diagnosed with breast cancer or who are at high risk for breast cancer, who desire reconstruction or have had reconstruction in the past.

The Women’s Health and Cancer Rights Act of 1998 is a law that ensures insurance coverage for certain breast reconstruction surgeries following a mastectomy. It guarantees that if you have health insurance, your plan must cover breast reconstruction, including the initial reconstruction and most revisions.

Types of Breast Reconstruction

Breasts can be restored with implants, tissue from another area of the body (typically the abdomen), or both.

If a patient chooses to have a lumpectomy or partial mastectomy, Dr. Park can perform a breast reduction at the same time, which can reshape the breasts and improve symmetry.
